Equipment

At Stortford Divers we have equipment for you to hire. We charge £50 to hire the equipment for the duration of the Ocean Diver course. We would ask that you purchase your own mask as it is important that these fit correctly. Many people also choose to get their own fins but this is a matter of personal choice.

After you have qualified, equipment is available to hire for training/dive trips at a cost of £5 per item or £15 for a complete set of kit. This includes BCD, regulators, full cylinder, weight-belt and weights. We do not have semi-dry suits but these can be hired from one of the local dive shops.

If you prefer you can hire all your kit from a dive shop. Current Prices as of Feb 2010

Planet Scuba - £45 per day
Gildenburgh  - £48 per day

Once people are qualified as Ocean Diver we encourage you to start buying your own equipment, although buying kit can be expensive, it makes a big difference to have your own. You can ensure the best fit and feel more comfortable when diving. Club members are ofter selling good quality kit as they upgrade to different configurations so t is worth keeping an eye out at the club for notices.

All out kit is serviced regularly, regulators are serviced annually and cylinders every 2 1/2 or 5 years as required. We ask you to treat any hired equipment as you would your own - please do not drag the regulators through the car park! Returned kit should be thoroughly washed if it has been in salt water and cylinders MUST be returned full.

That is the list..... I cannot emphasize that I cannot see a mark, on the kit, slight use on the bags when in the airplane hold but as expected. I am really looking to have someone take the lot at an offer price which I would pass on to my friend for their decision. Obviously will suit anyone Female, just completed training looking to kit up... It is truly a bargain here...
